Destroy the status quo of a what a professional consists of on LinkedIn. By collaborating with 23 established creative entrepreneurs who are already in the B2B space in the realms of Art, Fashion, Food and Beverage, Music and Cosmetology, LinkedIn employees Jared Hunter and Ismael Verduzco will help these creatives establish a brand presence and unlock opportunity through the LinkedIn social platform to continue to grow their businesses, and create sustainable pipeline for the opportunities that they have dreamed of.
Since the conception and now rapid growth of the social media age, LinkedIn has always been viewed as the platform that was for traditional business/corporate America. The individual who went to a 4 year institution, and aspired to make a mark within the Fortune 500 companies. For the standard professional, it has been the goto to find jobs, create business opportunities, and ultimately expand the network of the A-Typical American professional.
But who says that only these individuals are professionals? Why do we not see people who have mastered their trades in the crafts, creative world, and other non traditional professions not taking advantage of LinkedIn in the same fashion as others? As a creative entrepreneur, where does our validation and verification truly lie?
With the power of social media, and accessibility that the internet gives, we have seen influencers born almost overnight. They have been equipped with the ability to capture and showcase culture in ways that has never been done before. But even with all of the leverage and influence that platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat have lended, how do we take it a step further in terms of calling our own shots, and landing the opportunities with brands we have always wanted to work with? And bigger than that, how do we then pass on the knowledge to other creative entrepreneurs in order to help scale the opportunities amongst others?
Through the opportunity that LinkedIn provides to network with traditional business professionals, we are hoping that by working with these creative entrepreneurs, we are able to create a ripple effect and ultimately change the perception of what it means to be a professional on LinkedIn. We also plan on attracting creatives with a top down strategy to the platform by outreaching to creative influencers from non traditional backgrounds and asking them to be pioneers in utilizing the platform so that their followings can have insight as well.
